I was first brought to work at the Park because of my interest in developing tourism in the area. Congo used to have a thriving tourism industry, but it was destroyed by war and political instability. I am a big advocate for the protection of wildlife, but it is very difficult to spread the message of conservation in a country where most people are so poor.
